I tried to explain that we just disconnect the return hose from the pool, take out the cartridge, and get the same results, but they wouldn't even try to help me find a solution. They only said they don't recommend it because my pump doesn't vacuum to waste. I got on chat with HTH and they were no help. With a pool this small (5500 gal), I get algae every time it rains. I'm hoping someone here has some kind of nifty trick to get around the skimmer problem, as this is going to be an ongoing issue. I'm looking for a simpler solution or some way to add the flocculent without a skimmer. We had to treat with HTH Green to Blue a few weeks ago, and hubby rigged up something using our old skimmer and a really long vacuum hose. The problem is, the new pool does not have a skimmer, and there's so many chemicals and treatments that have to be added through the skimmer - I don't know what to do! I read up and see that this is due to new regulations, blah blah blah. The new pool has TWO intake ports coming off the pool to the pump, and they are smaller than the previous. This year, we had to replace our vinyl Intex popup pool. I have a problem I can't seem to find an answer to. Hi, I'm new to this forum, but I've been reading articles here for several years.
